The North Doreen occurrence is located north and west of Doreen Creek, approximately 1.4 kilometres east-northeast of the eastern end of Doreen Lake.

Regionally, the area lies within the eastern part of the Quesnel terrane and is underlain mainly by fine-grained marine sedimentary rocks and volcanic rocks of the lower part of an Upper Triassic Nicola Group. These have been intruded by bodies of Late Triassic to Early Jurassic dioritic to syenitic rocks.

Locally, the area lies in the roof zone of a small diorite stock that has hydrothermally altered and brecciated/fractured a sequence of mixed argillite and andesite tuff of the Upper Triassic Nicola Group. The black argillites are fine grained and siliceous and interbedded with fine- to medium-grained grey-green andesite tuffs. Individual beds vary from 1 to 40 metres thick and dip at steep angles. This stratigraphy is intruded by a series of grey dacitic dikes (steep dips), which brecciated and thermally metamorphosed the invaded rocks. All rock types carry 1 to 2 per cent disseminated pyrite and pyrrhotite, which locally increases to concentrations of up to 7 per cent in some 3- to 6-metre thick sections. Pyrrhotite can occur in massive zones up to 0.5 metre thick. Chalcopyrite in minor amounts occurs with pyrrhotite and very rare free gold has been reported. Also present are contact metamorphic zones of biotite hornfels associated with grey diorite, and breccia zones composed of diorite clasts.

The North Doreen occurrence is a northwest-striking shear/shatter zone approximately 40 to 50 metres wide hosting a 2-metre wide massive sulphide (pyrite, chalcopyrite) lens along the west side of the shear and massive pyrrhotite veins up to 20 centimetres thick in an area of black argillite and andesite dikes. The veins trend roughly east-west.

In 1983, percussion drilling yielded up to 0.41 gram per tonne gold over 1 metre in hole J-83-9, whereas a sample (28438) from a massive pyrrhotite vein assayed 3.76 grams per tonne gold and 0.13 per cent copper (Assessment Report 11382).

In 1987, rock sampling yielded up to 1.39 grams per tonne gold (Sample North Doreen 2R; Assessment Report 17215).

In 1990, a rock sample (92009) assayed 3.49 grams per tonne gold, 10.3 grams per tonne silver, 0.511 per cent copper and 0.108 per cent zinc (Assessment Report 20805).

In 1995, a rock chip samples over 2.0 metres of a mineralized lens assayed 0.207 per cent copper and 2.84 grams per tonne gold (Assessment Report 24404), whereas 12 out of 13 rock chip samples, including three short plugger drill holes collected across approximately 30 metres of exposure, averaged 1.17 grams per tonne gold. The highest individual value was 3.82 grams per tonne gold from a 10- to 20-centimetre wide shear/gouge zone with narrow quartz veins and pyrite (Assessment Report 24404).

In 2014, rock samples are reported to have yielded up to 0.240 per cent copper and 23 grams per tonne gold (samples 443 and 494; Assessment Report 35244). The following year, a rock sample (3294) from the main showing area is reported to have yielded 13.24 grams per tonne gold, whereas other samples (4002) taken from ‘Area D’, located along a roadcut a short distance to the northeast, yielded up to 0.913 per cent copper (Assessment Report 36035).

The Jamboree 1-18 claims were first staked in 1981 by E & B Explorations Inc. as part of the RGS staking rush to cover an area of anomalous gold and arsenic values. Monte Christo Resources Limited optioned the property in 1982 and performed a series of geochemical surveys. The Jamboree 15 claim was part of a 265-unit block eventually acquired by Imperial Metals Corp. and covers the North Doreen and Doreen (MINFILE 093A 149) occurrences. Programs of grid and reconnaissance soil sampling were completed in 1982 and 1983, along with bulldozer trenching on the newly discovered Doreen occurrence. A soil sample taken over the North Doreen showing yielded 4100 parts per billion gold. Subsequent prospecting located the North Doreen occurrence. Subsequently, three percussion drill holes (JD-03-9, 10, 22) (175.9 metres) tested the showing, although drilling was compromised by topography and could not adequately test the target. In 1987 and 1988, programs of rock and soil sampling and 18.0 line-kilometres of ground geophysical surveying were completed on the Ridge zone to the northeast.

During 1987 through 1991, Imperial Metals Corp. completed programs of soil and rock sampling, geological mapping and ground geophysical surveying on the area.

In 1995, the Reno claim was staked to cover the former Jamboree 15 claim of Imperial Metals Corp. Rock chip sampling and three plugger holes were completed on the North Doreen showing, and reconnaissance geology, prospecting and rock sampling were conducted on the Doreen showing by owner-operators H. Wahl and J. Brown-John.

In 2009, a program of geochemical (rock and heavy mineral) sampling was completed. During 2012 through 2017, Barker Minerals Ltd. completed programs of rock and soil sampling on the area as the Doreen property.
